Parkas and Mukluks in South Brunswick?
The weather took a dramatic turn over the weekend and I wanted to give you a heads-up.
We brought this up in a meeting late last week with management— and it's the same situation as we had last winter.
Dow Jones made a decision to hold the line on utilities at the campus in South Brunswick to save an estimated half a million dollars a year, but the company seems to be more willing to talk about making adjustments this winter.
Of course that might have something to do with the fact that there are folks on the 3rd floor in Building One wearing coats and gloves at their desk. Sweaters won't soften their heart, but when you start wearing parkas, mukluks and mittens at your desk they know there's a problem.
Let me know if it's too cold in the office— tell me where and when— and I'll pass it along to management. I think they wanted to make sure that if there's going to be a flood of e-mail, my in-box would take the hit, not theirs. That's OK, just like in those old walk-ups in Brooklyn, pound on the pipes and the "super" will throw a little more coal in the furnance.
