Bargaining Update 10.31.06
We met wth the company this morning (Tuesday, October 31st) to set the ground rules and timetable for contract bargaining— and we wanted to keep you in the loop.
We will generally be meeting Tuesday mornings in New York, with the first session scheduled for next Tuesday, November 7th. We will follow that with a session each week— an ambitious schedule which reflects a commitment to take this process seriously.
Make no mistake, there are some serious issues on the table which will require some serious bargaining— and a willingness on the part of every one of us to stand up for a Quality Contract.
Both sides will exchange their bargaining proposals when we meet next week—and we'll keep you up to date, every step of the way.
This is your union— this is your contract— and it has to be your fight, as well.
