Dow Jones has made its latest IT outsourcing decision — and it will result in lay-offs for something less than 90 IAPE-represented employees.
IAPE is going through the outsourcing in detail to ensure that the terms of the contract have been followed in each and every case. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the office.
We will make sure that those targeted by the latest outsourcing will receive everything they're entitled to receive — including the additional enhancements negotiated in the latest contract: 4 weeks' pay — on top of the standard severance package — and a retraining allowance of $12,000.
We still believe that outsourcing is short-sighted and unnecessary and we will continue making the argument that such cuts are damaging the core of Dow Jones.
