Labor Day is a holiday for all IAPE-represented employees at Dow Jones.
Under the terms of the contract, If you have to work on the holiday you are entitled to time and a half for your regular hours and double time for anything beyond that — PLUS you'll receive another day off or another day's worth of straight pay. Make sure you file. Go to LINK2HR at DowJones.net and follow the instructions.
If you have to work on a regularly scheduled day off, you are entitled to premium pay: At Dow Jones, an automatic minimum of 5 hours at time and a half, 7 hours minimum for anything worked beyond the first five hours. At Factiva the minimum is 3-and-a-half hours.
