We've heard from a number of folks in sales that one of the new bosses has been trying to "inspire the troops" in the face of some tough ad numbers — always a laudable endeavor — but apparently this time something was said to the effect that the work day is now 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
You know the old story, "there's a new sheriff in town," "we're all in this together," yadda, yadda, yadda. For the record, we were told by the company that the comments were never intended to be construed as a change to any IAPE-represented employee's hours.
The bottom line? The hours haven't changed.
It's a 35 hour week and a 7 hour day (8, IF you get an hour for lunch — and actually take it.)
It's guaranteed in the contract — and if you're working more than 7 hours a day, you might be eligible for overtime.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or problems reach out to union organizer Tim Martell or Grievance Chair Ken Martin.
