The 2016 IAPE Contract Survey
It's Your Contract, Tell Us What You Want
"USA Today has come out with a new survey — apparently, three out of every four people make up 75% of the population." — David Letterman
Oh, how we miss Dave. And yes, it's true that surveys measure almost anything these days. The question is, which ones are really worth your time and attention.
When it comes to your thoughts on the IAPE contract, we truly believe our survey is worth your time. We can assure you we're paying attention.
Last week, IAPE members received email invitations to voice their opinions on the IAPE contract thorough four "themed" surveys: Bargaining Issues, Health Care Benefits, Pay and Overtime, and Job Security & Satisfaction.
The response from IAPE members has been impressive and informative. That's good, because it is the will of the IAPE membership which will determine the course of 2016 IAPE contract negotiations at Dow Jones.
If you have not yet had an opportunity to submit your answers to one or all of our surveys, there is still time. We plan on keeping these links active through the end of this weekend, April 24th. Then your Union representatives will work on analyzing survey results and tailoring our proposals for a new DJ contract.
As a reminder, our current agreement expires on June 30, 2016.
Even if you don't feel like taking our online surveys, we're still curious: what does the IAPE contract mean to you? What would you like to see changed or added? Which current provisions would you like to see improved, and which ones would you absolutely refuse to modify?
This is your chance to tell us what you want in your contract. Don't be shy, we welcome all suggestions.
Please feel free to reach out to an IAPE director or steward near you, or contact us at the IAPE office. And stay tuned for contract bargaining updates — July 1st will be here before you know it.
