Our parent organization, Communication Workers of America (CWA) recognizes that many of its members, which include us here in IAPE, are not US citizens. As such, CWA has made available the following resources from the National Immigration Law Center, in case you are confronted with ICE either in or outside the workplace.

What to do if you are arrested or detained: These guidelines and rights apply regardless of whether you are in the workplace or not. https://www.nilc.org/resources/know-your-rights-what-to-do-if-arrested-detained-immigration/

Red Cards: Like our IAPE membership cards, these contain a short script to read, citing your 4th and 5th Amendment rights (protection against unlawful search and seizure and protection against self-incrimination and right to due process, respectively). They can be printed in various languages here: https://www.ilrc.org/red-cards-tarjetas-rojas#item-4475

Guidelines for Employers (pdf): While this does not explicitly concern members, these are useful guidelines for what workplaces should be doing: https://www.nilc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/NILC_EmployerGuide_English.pdf
