Updated: Candidate Statements

This year, for the first time in recent memory, three candidates are running for election for President of IAPE 1096, while two candidates are running for Secretary.

The IAPE Election Committee has declared candidates "elected" for all other Union officer and director positions.

(Originally, four candidates were in the running for three Location Director - Mid-Atlantic seats. One of those candidates has withdrawn; Nicole Barker, Patricia Corley and Kimberly McDonnell-MacKenzie will be seated as Location Directors for the Mid-Atlantic region when the new IAPE Board of Directors meets again in December.)

IAPE members will begin voting for President and Secretary in an online election commencing October 23rd. Candidates for those positions, in alphabetical order, are as follows:

President

Robert Kozma
Yogita Patel

Secretary

Siobhan Hughes
Michael Tahmisyan

(Note: For the election for President, the nominee who receives the majority of the votes cast shall be declared elected. If no one nominee receives a majority on the first ballot, the vote shall be taken again. The two nominees having the greatest number of votes on the first ballot shall be nominees on the second ballot. The nominee receiving the majority of the votes cast on the second ballot shall be declared elected.)

Per the rules for the IAPE TNG-CWA Local 1096 2017 election of officers, "All candidates in contested elections will be permitted to make a statement for posting on the IAPE web site."
